OMG – Everyone in Tennis Has an Opinion!

Wherever you go in tennis, someone has an opinion that is contrary to everyone else’s.   And now it’s Me versus Vic Braden!  I just finished a short video on how NOT to serve and volley, with myself as the prime example.  Shows how the the service toss and not taking a split step can wreak havoc with your results.  Here is a link to it: “Two Common Serve and Volley Mistakes” Pretty straight forward, in line with general thinking in tennis circles.

Then in the other corner is Vic Braden, who claims that a split step is detrimental to a serve and volleyer.  Here’s the link:  Vic Braden.  By the way, the interview is highlighted on one of my favorite instructional websites, Florian Meiers “OnlineTennisInstruction“.   And even though I don’t agree with Vic Braden, I do like a lot of what Florian Meier has to say on his website  “OnlineTennisInstruction.com

Vic Braden says “no split step”.  I say “yes” to the split step!  You decide – feel free to comment.
